Compeer’s Morris Named to Hall of Fame Date: 2/5/2021 1:47:52 PM Author: Compeer Financial Educational Opportunities: Articles Home > Education & Events > February 2021 > Compeer’s Morris Named to Hall of Fame Share: Michael Morris, ARA, MAI, vice president, appraisal at Compeer Financial, Normal Illinois, was inducted into the Hall of Farm of the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers during the organization’s annual meeting held January 28. The Hall of Fame was begun in 1980 and salutes members who have given ‘above and beyond’ the expectations of normal membership participation. In making the presentation, Woodrow noted Morris’ career beginning as a trainee with Farm Credit Services 30 years ago. He cited Morris’ climb through that organization from a district review appraiser, a senior appraiser and finally the chief appraiser spot as the company went through a number of name changes including AgriBank, 1st Farm Credit Services and now Compeer Financial. Presenting the award is Rob Woodrow, AFM, immediate past president of the organization. The Hall of Fame is the highest recognition the Society bestows on individual members and marks their contributions both to the organization as well as the agriculture industry in the state. Morris is vice president, appraisal at Compeer Financial ini Normal, IL. Woodrow is a partner with Farmland Solutions, LLC, based in Sherman, IL. The presentation was made during the Society’s annual meeting held January 28. Morris also served as president of the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals for nearly 10 years. “Mike has been a strong supporter of the Chapter and has been instrumental in encouraging membership among younger and new employees at Farm Credit,” Woodrow added. The Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers was founded in 1928 and is the largest of the 28 state organizations in the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. The Illinois Chapter is best known regionally for producing the annual Illinois Land Values Conference and the Illinois Land Values and Lease Trends Report.
