Rural Business Investment Companies (RBIC) are private, collaborative investment funds shared between Compeer Financial and other Farm Credit Associations. The funds are managed by skilled professionals who have a solid history of public-private partnerships in underserved markets.
They successfully bring businesses, technologies and jobs to communities that have historically lacked access to investment capital in partnership with state and federal economic development programs. These funds, backed by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), provide junior capital (equity, subordinated or unsecured debt, and preferred stock) to select companies in rural areas to provide the capital necessary for growth.
