Donations Uplift Rural Communities on Giving Tuesday
While Giving Tuesday is just one symbolic day of the year, supporting our local communities is something Compeer Financial does every day.
After a month and a half, more than 5,700 people entered our Giving Tuesday 2024 contest, which gave anyone in our three-state territory the chance to win the opportunity to designate a $2,500 donation to their favorite local organization.
Entrants could select from four categories – FFA, 4-H, county fairs and food pantries. All four organization types had an outpouring of support and FFA programs saw an overwhelming response in all three states.
“FFA, 4-H, county fairs and food pantries are at the core of what we support with Compeer’s giving because they’re important to clients and our communities. Giving Tuesday is a heartwarming day here,” notes Karen Schieler, manager of Compeer’s Fund for Rural America and Giving.
One winner from each state in Compeer’s service area was chosen for the Giving Tuesday 2024 contest. Read their stories below.
- ILLINOIS: Maggie St. Peters chose to give her $2,500 gift to the Tri-Valley FFA Chapter
- MINNESOTA: Kyle Miller designated his donation to the Zion Lutheran Food Pantry
- WISCONSIN: Lance Kamm gave back to the Baldwin Wide Awake 4-H Club
“Compeer gives back to the programs, projects and people that make a difference in agriculture and rural communities,” says Schieler. “It’s something that is important to us and our clients – who are oftentimes the people leading the way to keep rural America vital and thriving.”
Double Your Impact for FFA
On Giving Tuesday 2024, Compeer is matching the first $2,500 of donations to the FFA Foundations in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Let’s double down to help support the next generation of agricultural leaders and lay the groundwork for a more resilient future.

Compeer’s Fund for Rural America
Established in 2018, our Fund for Rural America focuses on giving within Compeer’s three-state territory in five areas important to our clients and rural communities:
- Agricultural Advocacy & Development
- Agriculture Education
- Cooperative Initiatives
- Rural Development & Community Enrichment
- Youth Engagement
We work hard to identify and invest in opportunities that improve life for the rural residents and communities where we all live, giving back through thick and thin. One percent of our annual net earnings are allocated to the Fund, meaning $28.6 million has been reinvested in opportunities for rural residents and communities where our clients live.
